Downloading & Installing iNetMail

Downloading and Installing the software

Please, follow these steps in the order they are listed:

  1. Download iNetMail by clicking the button below:

  2. Start the iNetMail.exe, which will automatically run the application Installation Wizard. The wizard will guide you through the rest of the installation process.
    NOTE: The Installation wizard will create a Virtual Directory, called iNetMail, into you Default Web Site.
  3. Download and install free Zaks POP3 v2.0 Beta 7 (24k) from the
    http://www.zaks.demon.co.uk/code/cpts/pop/index.html available by Simon Fell (http://www.zaks.demon.co.uk/code/index.html).
    The ActiveX can be found at this URL: http://www.zaks.demon.co.uk/code/cpts/pop/jpop2b7.zip
  4. Extract the files from jpop2b7.zip into a directory. (You can extract the files into the directory C:\Program Files\ConsultCommerce\InetMail\ActiveX,where some of the iNetMail files are installed by default). To register the component, run regsvr32 zakspop3.dll from the directory where you put the DLL.

  5. Download a demo version of ASPUpload ActiveX: http://www.persits.com/aspupload.exe by Persits Software.
    Start the aspupload.exe and follow the installation wizard steps.

You can start the iNetMail site from the Start menu >Programs >iNetMail >iNetMail or type http://localhost/inetmail/inbox.asp into the Address Bar of your default browser.

Basic System Requirements

Following are the basic requirements for installing iNetMail 1.0:

  1. Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Internet Information Server 4.0 and Service Pack 4.0 or later or Microsoft Windows 2000, Internet Information Server 5.0 and Service Pack 1.0
  2. SMTP Server installed and running on Internet Information Server.
  3. Zaks POP3 ActiveX
  4. ASPUload ActiveX - if you plan to use the full "attach to message" functionality of iNetMail.
